- 1 Baguette or Ciabatta Bread (fresh, sliced ½ inch thick)
- 2 Sweet Onions (thinly sliced)
- 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sliced onions. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 15 minutes until soft and caramelized, stirring occasionally.
- While the onions cook, slice your baguette or ciabatta into half-inch pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spoon caramelized onions generously over each slice of bread. Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are crisp.
- Transfer to a serving platter while warm; these toasts are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven!
