Description

Onion Parmesan Toasts are a delightful combination of crispy bread, sweet caramelized onions, and rich Parmesan cheese. Perfect for entertaining or as a cozy snack, these toasts are irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Baguette or Ciabatta Bread (fresh, sliced ½ inch thick)
  • 2 Sweet Onions (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sliced onions. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 15 minutes until soft and caramelized, stirring occasionally.
  3. While the onions cook, slice your baguette or ciabatta into half-inch pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Spoon caramelized onions generously over each slice of bread. Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are crisp.
  6. Transfer to a serving platter while warm; these toasts are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven!
