Description

Enjoy the warm, buttery goodness of these soft homemade pretzel bites—perfectly chewy and irresistibly tasty. Ideal for any gathering or casual snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (around 110°F/43°C)
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ cup baking soda (for boiling solution)
  • 4 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle in the yeast and let it sit for about five minutes until frothy. Stir in salt, then gradually add flour until a dough forms.
  2. 2. Knead with Love: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about five minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. 3. Let It Rise: Place your kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  4. 4. Shape Those Bites: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small pieces (about one-inch chunks). Roll each piece into a rope shape, then form into knots or bites.
  5. 5. Boil & Bake: Bring water to a boil in a large pot and add baking soda to create an alkaline bath. Boil each pretzel bite for about thirty seconds before placing them on lined baking sheets. Brush with melted butter right before baking.
  6. 6. Time to Enjoy: Bake at 425°F (220°C) for about twelve minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with your favorite dips.
