Ingredients
Scale
- 3–4 pounds beef brisket
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare Your Brisket: Trim excess fat from the brisket and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Make the Spice Rub: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and rub evenly over the brisket.
- Layer Your Ingredients: Place sliced onions at the bottom of the slow cooker. Lay the seasoned brisket on top. Pour beef broth over everything followed by BBQ sauce.
- Slow Cook: Cover and set your slow cooker on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours until fork-tender.
- Shred and Serve: Once cooked, remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for ten minutes before shredding it with two forks. Return shredded beef to the slow cooker to soak in juices before serving with extra BBQ sauce drizzled on top.
