Description

Savor the warmth of homemade lasagna, layered with gooey cheese and rich marinara, perfect for gatherings or cozy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 lasagna noodles (traditional or no-boil)
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (or turkey)
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions if using traditional noodles. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce and chopped basil. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Lay down three noodles side by side.
  8. Spoon half of the ricotta mixture over them, followed by more meat sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
  9. Repeat layers until you reach the top.
  10. Finish with one last layer of noodles topped with remaining meat sauce and mozzarella.
  11. Cover with foil and bake for about 25 minutes.
  12. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  13. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
