Description

Indulge in the warm, buttery goodness of these homemade garlic herb dinner rolls, perfect for enhancing any meal with their fluffy texture and delightful flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • 4 tbsp melted butter (plus extra for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle active dry yeast on top and let it sit for about five minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, salt, garlic powder, and dried Italian herbs.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: Once the yeast is frothy, pour it into the bowl with dry ingredients along with melted butter. Mix with a wooden spoon or spatula until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for about five minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let It Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a kitchen towel. Allow it to rise in a warm spot for about one hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Shape and Bake: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal pieces; roll each into balls. Place on a greased baking sheet close together but not touching. Let them rise again for about thirty minutes before baking at 375°F (190°C) for around twenty minutes until golden brown. Brush immediately with melted butter after removing from the oven.
