Description

Discover the joy of baking with these Fluffy Potato Rolls, featuring a soft, pillowy texture and rich buttery flavor that makes every meal memorable.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium-sized potatoes (about 2 cups mashed)
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2¼ tsp)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Peel and boil the potatoes until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash until smooth.
  2. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm milk and sugar. Add the active dry yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, melted butter, salt, and yeast mixture. Stir until smooth and gradually add the all-purpose flour.
  4. Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until elastic. If sticky, add more flour as needed.
  5. Let It Rise: Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Shape & Bake: Punch down the risen dough gently, divide into equal pieces (about eight), and shape into balls. Place on a greased baking sheet to rise again for about 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Serve: Enjoy these Fluffy Potato Rolls fresh from the oven with melting butter!
