Description

Baked Sweet and Sour Meatballs are juicy, flavorful bites enveloped in a tangy sauce—perfect for any gathering or cozy night at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup ketchup (low-sugar if preferred)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped green onions, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into meatballs about one inch in diameter and place them on the prepared baking sheet with space between each.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and vinegar until smooth.
  5. Pour half of the sauce over the meatballs before baking.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  7. Drizzle with remaining sauce before serving. Garnish with more green onions if desired.
