Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar.
- In another bowl, combine eggs, melted butter, and milk. Mix well.
- Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
- Divide batter into two bowls. Keep one as chocolate batter and add more milk and vanilla extract to the other, mixing until smooth.
- Pour each batter into prepared pans and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually mix in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until fluffy. Add a splash of milk if needed for consistency.
- Place one chocolate layer on a serving plate and spread frosting on top before adding the second layer (the white cake).
- Coat the entire cake with remaining frosting for an elegant finish.
