Description

Experience the delightful layers of rich chocolate and creamy vanilla in this stunning Tuxedo Bar Cake, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz softened cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about two minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and gently tap each pan.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool in their pans for about ten minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
  6. While the cakes cool completely, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in softened cream cheese until smooth.
  7. Place one layer of cake on your serving platter. Spread a generous amount of frosting on top.
  8. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the sides and top with any remaining frosting.
