Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted cold butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup high-quality dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup toasted hazelnuts, roughly chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and powdered sugar. Add cold butter cubes and mix until crumbly.
- Press the mixture evenly into a tart pan across the bottom and up the sides. Prick with a fork to prevent bubbling. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Blind bake by placing parchment paper over the crust and filling it with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden. Remove weights and bake for an additional 5 minutes until fully set.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt dark chocolate with heavy cream until smooth.
- Remove from heat and whisk in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
- Fold in roughly chopped toasted hazelnuts into the chocolate mixture.
- Pour the filling into the pre-baked tart shell.
- Bake for another 20-25 minutes until set but slightly soft in the center.
- Let cool completely before serving.
