Description

A comforting dish that captures the essence of home cooking, this Classic Meatloaf is tender, juicy, and perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with nonstick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture into your prepared loaf pan and shape it into a neat loaf.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup and brown sugar until well blended. Spread this mixture generously over the top of your meatloaf.
  5. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about one hour or until the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let your meatloaf rest for about ten minutes before slicing. Serve warm with mashed potatoes or green beans.
