Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb lean Ground Turkey
- 1/2 cup Dried Cranberries
- 1/3 cup Chopped Walnuts
- 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Breadcrumbs
- 1 large Egg
- 1 small Onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 4 Lettuce Leaves, washed
- 1 medium Sliced Tomato
- 4 slices Cheese (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Gather all your ingredients on the counter. Finely chop the onion and roughly chop the walnuts if whole.
- 2. Mix the Burger Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, dried cranberries, chopped walnuts, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.
- 3. Form Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about one inch thick.
- 4. Cook the Patties: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil. Cook each patty for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach at least 165°F).
- 5. Assemble Your Burgers: Once cooked, remove patties from heat and let them rest for a minute. Toast burger buns if desired and layer with lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and cheese if using.
- 6. Serve: Serve each assembled burger with sides such as sweet potato fries or salad.
